Your Time To Vote For Board Members

You are invited to the Annual Meeting of Ashland Little League Members on Wednesday September 14th at 6:30pm. This meeting will be held in the cafeteria of the Senior Center on Homes Avenue (next to the Little League fields in Hunter Park). In this meeting the general membership will be electing New Members for the Board of Directors. The new board members then volunteer for specific positions and are then voted to fill specific positions by the other board members.

This is a great opportunity to see, and have a say in, who the new members of the Board of Directors will be. Here are a few things you may not know:
  1. Every year all positions must be re-elected.
  2. Some members take on new positions each year as they are vacated.
  3. Some members stay in their same position as their child stays with the Ashland Little League system.
  4. And each year we always have members who are 'matriculating' with their kids into the older Ashland Youth Baseball League and are moving on.
  5. As a parent of a little leaguer, you are an official member and may vote at this meeting on the people you feel should be board members.
  6. While all positions are up for grabs every year, we already specifically know that we need to fill the following positions: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Concession Manager, Outreach Coordinator, Baseball Commissioner, Pony and T-Ball Coaching Coordinator, and Fundraising Coordinator.

The League Works Because Of Members Like You

The Ashland Little League is run completely by volunteer efforts from its members (That is you!).  And every year several dozen of your neighbors join in and contribute over a thousand total hours in order to keep the league running and pass on the love of the national pastime to a new generation.

Pizza, Drinks And Childcare Will Be Provided

In order to make it easier for parents to come to the meeting, Ashland Little League will be providing free pizza and drinks as well as childcare at the playground. In order to make sure we have enough food, drinks and childcare we are asking members to let us know if they are coming using this handy form (you've seen a lot of these lately!).

We hope to see you all there!

HERE IS ANOTHER LINK TO THE SUBMISSION FORM...
The 11-12 Ashland Little League All Star team won the District 6 Championship Tournament in Medford for the first time since 2006. Representing District 6, the Ashland All Stars traveled to Bend, Oregon where they competed in the State Tournament - the winner of which would travel on to San Bernardino, California to compete against winners of the other states in the Northwest. The winner of the Northwest Regional Tournament would then travel to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to compete in the Little League World Series.

The Bend Tournament is a double elimination game meaning that once a team loses two games it is eliminated from the tournament. At this level, Ashland has never won more than two games in the 11-12 year old bracket. This year’s team lost the first game and then played and won five games over the next six days to earn a berth in the championship game. In total, the team played seven games in eight days, sometimes ending late at night and starting early the next day. It was a grueling schedule but the players never complained and, in fact, enjoyed the competition and were proud to be representing Ashland and District 6 Little League.
